Abode tours is a sustainable, community-based enterprise that offers unorthodox and authentic travel experiences in some of Sri Lanka’s most remote locations.

Abode first took its roots 5 years ago in a jungle hamlet call “Walpolamula”, deep inside the knuckles mountain range in central Sri Lanka. Walapolamula is accessible only by foot, and the secluded little village offers a glimpse of a unique culture that is slowly being lost to urbanisation. A handful of fortunate guests were guided on foot and offered home stay accommodation in this most unique of social, cultural and natural environments.

Since then abode has evolved and extended its ties to another village community in the north western island of Mannar. This project also brings together diverse cultures and natural environment as the abode tour experience.

Abode travel advocate simplicity with a degree of creature comfort, communion among various cultures by facilitating local knowledge & expertise to explore the unexplored.
