- Nuwaragala Mountain & The East Coast
This trip explores the newly re-opened east coast and some of its lesser-know sites. Starting in Kandy we head east to Nuwagala Mountain, a ruined ancient rock palace shrouded in mystery. Our trek to the rock will take us though wild jungles. Accompanied by our team from the local village, we will trek, cook and camp out in the wild. Our team is made up of a combination of local Sinhalese villagers and decentents of the indigenous mountain tribes of the region.
Following on from here we will take an adventurous safari in Maduru Oya National Park and visit the fabled east coast beaches of Pasikudah and Kalkudaah. Heading south along the coast we stop in the iconic city f Batticaloa before winding up our beach time at the surfer’s paradise of Arugam Bay.
Along the way (the trip can be tailored to suit the number of days you have available) we will stay in guest houses and similar accommodation. Contact us or our partners for a quote or more detailed information about this trip.

- Padi Yathra Pilgrimage
Pada Yathra is one of worlds oldest and ardous religoius rituals. In grace of lord Skanda, the great god of war, every year thousands of devotees set off from Jaffna in June to reach the holy hamlet of Katargama in the deep south east of the island. The walk braves nearly 300 km's along the east coast and jungles. The most adventoures and exiting part of it is when pilgrims traverse through Yala national park on foot some 85 km, camping out for 5 nights. The hike ends with a majestic ceremony in the great temple of Katargama on full moon day in August. It's one of the most phenomonal human rituals and a true test of stamina and endurance.
